I’m Tzlil, a yoga teacher and a med student. I Live in Haifa. My background with movement comes from dance; As a girl I danced mainly modern dance and jazz. The movement was a place of self-expression and liberation for me, as close as possible to flying. (: Today I found this liberating space on the yoga mat.
I experienced yoga for the first time in India in 2011, an experience that I remember as mostly pleasant. A less pleasant memory is from a class where I was instructed to practice a shoulder stand, after which I was left with a stiff neck for the entire trip… It took me years to get back to practicing this position again. Yoga began to take a more significant part of my life after an accident I had in 2015, after which I was afraid to return to dancing, but I managed to return to movement. The yoga mat has become a safe space, where I can move in an attentive, pleasant, and at the same time challenging and revitalizing manner. Today I teach hatha-vinyasa yoga; It is a flowing style of practice, emphasizing breathing and presence in the body, while staying in the asana.
